Many municipalities hire independent inspectors rather than
having a full
time inspector on the payroll.
That may be what is happening here.

A great deal. The passive solar system must be incorporated into
the design.

Probably, if he has followed state law. He will likely need to
file an
"Intent" first, at which time you should see a local lawyer. I would
wait
until then to see if he is bluffing, but I am not familiar with Ohio law so
you may want to see one sooner, or otherwise research Ohio law.
I am looking for plans that would best be described as usonian. I want to
use passive solar energy, possibly solar electric,ERVS, build as green as
possible, concrete slab on grade with heating, and a reflecting flat roof.
None of the plans on your site seem to match my criteria but I really
can't pay an architect or house designer fees, as my total budget has to
be in the $175,000 range, so I am looking to combine stock plans as much
as possible.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you for allot of the
information on your site. It has been helpful in learning the in's and
out's of building my own home.
Try searching and contacting solar system dealers in your area. They may
have suitable plans already drawn up, or be able to provide them.
ANDY, I'M PLANNING ON HAVING SOMEONE STAIN MY DECK. I WAS JUST TOLD THAT
THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD BE LICENSED AND INSURED. I HAD NEVER HEARD THAT
BEFORE. SHOULD ALL CONTRACTORS DOING ANYTHING ON YOUR HOME SHOULD BE
INSURED? PLS ADVICE THANKS SHERRY
Licences may not be required for a painter, but insurance is absolutely
necessary. Otherwise any injury is your responsibility.
